Assalamu Alaikkum,
As you may be aware the Covid-19 Pandemic has damaged the livelihoods of hundreds of families in Sri Lanka. Alhamdullillah, with your generous donations in the past, we were able to distribute dry food packs to those affected in many areas in Sri Lanka, including Galhinna.
However, the current Covid Delta variant has had a significant impact on many livelihoods and sadly, we have lost many people from Galhinna who were tested positive for the virus. A great number of families who were previously dependent on day labour are suffering severe hardship under the current island-wide lockdown. The loss in their immediate source of income, means many families do not have the means to buy essential supplies.
The GWA-UK is supporting the Covid-19 Disaster Relief 2021 project by two jummah masjids of Galhinna under the support and guidance of the Unity Alliance (Ondrium) & All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (Galhinna Branch) to support families.
Each food pack will cost £15 (Rs.3500). We would kindly appreciate your generous donations. May Almighty Allah bless you all.
